Mark Bogen has been practicing law for over 37 years and is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and Illinois. As the managing partner of the Bogen Law Group, Mark has primarily focused his law practice to the representation of condominium and homeowner associations. Mark has represented hundreds of associations of all sizes ranging from ten units to some of the largest associations in the State of Florida.

Mr. Bogen wrote the weekly Condo and HOA column for the Sun Sentinel newspaper for over 20 years. He is also a frequent quest speaker at association board and unit owner meetings, informing them on the new laws and answering legal questions.

When he is not representing condominium associations, Mr. Bogen has been involved in a variety of well known securities, consumer and anti-trust class action cases.  Bogen is “of counsel” to Labaton Sucharow, which is one of the most respected class action law firms in the United States.

Mr. Bogen is also a frequent guest speaker at association board and unit owner meetings informing them on the new laws and answering legal questions.

Mark Bogen was a former “special” assistant to the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s office and was an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County, Florida.

Kyle Mixson is an experienced attorney practicing condominium and homeowners association law, civil litigation, and insurance defense. He offers his clients large-firm expertise and skills with small-firm care. Former clients describe Kyle as “prepared, knowledgeable, and engaged from the on-set of the case to the finish line”.

Kyle was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended college at Furman University in Greenville, SC, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After college, he moved back to Florida to attend law school at Nova Southeastern University.

At Bogen Law Group, Kyle represents community associations in litigation, transactional, operational, and corporate matters. He is responsible for handling all aspects of litigation at the trial court level; providing legal opinions on operational and corporate matters; assisting with board member elections, recalls, and related arbitrations; interpreting and amending governing documents; drafting and reviewing contracts; pursuing legal action to address violations of restrictive covenants and association rules; prosecuting liens foreclosure actions; and representing associations as creditors’ counsel in bankruptcy court.

Prior to joining the firm, Kyle worked at large law firms defending first- and third-party insurance claims, and was responsible for claim investigations, coverage opinions, and all aspects of litigation through trial.

In his representation of condominium and homeowner associations, Michael has worked with the firm’s association clients to assist boards in enforcing their governing documents in litigation and arbitration proceedings. Michael also attends board meetings and in addition to reviewing contracts from vendors, engages in the drafting of amendments to clients’ articles of incorporation, by-laws, and declarations.

Michael gained jury and non-jury trial experience with the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office as a certified legal intern. Michael has prosecuted many criminal cases and tried over 50 trials, including both jury and non-trial.

Michael graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. After graduating from college, Michael earned his law degree from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.

Steven R. Cohen is an experienced attorney practicing condominium and homeowners’ association law, civil litigation, bankruptcy, and debt collection. With over 20 years of experience, Steven offers his clients a vast area of expertise and skills with care and attention to detail. He is responsible for handling client matters related to Community Association Law and related litigation; providing legal opinions on Association Law; assisting with board member questions. Steven has also taught as an Adjunct Law Professor at Trinity International University.

Veronica Doss, Esq. has been providing in-house general counsel services since she became licensed by the Florida Bar in 2013. Her mantra is that she was a “businessperson first, and then became a lawyer”. Before becoming an attorney, Veronica managed a busy real estate office for a commercial and residential real estate developer for over 10 years. During this time, she honed her business skills that help her every day in the legal arena by matching business needs with legal needs.  As in-house counsel she handled a wide variety of legal areas that affect businesses, including corporate law, complex commercial litigation, partnership disputes, creditor collections, construction law, real estate litigation and transactions, and landlord/tenant law.

Casey Amaya is an associate attorney at Bogen Law Group, where she focuses on community association law, advising condominium and homeowners associations on a range of legal matters. In law school, Casey earned the highest marks in Florida Condominium Law and Florida Construction Law. In practice, she brings with her a wealth of experience in the field, having previously worked at Becker & Poliakoff in the firm’s Community Associations Department.

Casey earned her J.D. from St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning a spot on the Dean’s List every semester. She was also a two-time published author with the St. Thomas Law Review. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate, Casey completed her undergraduate studies Summa Cum Laude at both Miami Dade Honors College and Florida International University Honors College, where she was honored as a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, one of only 47 students nationwide selected for the prestigious award.

During her time at Becker & Poliakoff, Casey first interned and later worked as an attorney, where she gained extensive experience in condominium and homeowners association law. Her responsibilities included advising clients on the interpretation and application of Florida Statutes Chapter 718 and Chapter 720, handling governance issues, contract disputes, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. Casey’s time at Becker allowed her to hone her skills in legal research, client relations, and dispute resolution, further solidifying her expertise in community association law.

Casey is committed to serving her community and advancing the legal profession. In 2022, she completed over 100 hours of pro bono legal work and contributed to the revision of a Maritime Manual related to the Jones Act. She also graduated from the Growing Our Leadership Diversity Program (G.O.L.D.), a competitive leadership development program for select young attorneys.

In addition to her practice, Casey is actively involved in legal and professional organizations. She serves as President of the STU Law Young Alumni Association and is a supporting attorney for the Honorable Peter T. Fay Inn of Court, where she fosters a commitment to professionalism and mentorship of current law students.

Casey holds additional certifications in Real Estate Law and Admiralty and Maritime Law and is dedicated to providing clients with thoughtful, strategic, and results-oriented legal counsel.

Marian Kennady

Marian Kennady

Marian Kennady graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and commenced a clerkship with a United States bankruptcy judge for the Southern District of Florida. After the conclusion of the two-year clerkship, Marian acquired additional experience in bankruptcy practice, representing trustees, creditors and debtors. She also acquired experience in contested mortgage foreclosures. Marian has over twenty years of experience representing individuals and business entities in an array of collection, civil litigation, and business disputes.

At Bogen Law Group, Marian represents community associations in a wide variety of matters. She is responsible for handling client matters related to community associations and related litigation, interpreting governing documents, drafting pleadings and discovery, drafting and reviewing settlement agreements, and commencing and prosecuting lien foreclosure actions.
